First steps on the road to intercontinental query of FAIR Data Points

September 2, 2020 representatives of VODAN Africa,  Leiden University Medical Center and the GO FAIR Foundation met online to discuss the steps needed for intercontinental query of FAIR Data Points (FDP’s) in Africa and Europe.

This marks a significant and historic milestone in the VODAN project, that sets out to create a global infrastructure of VODAN FAIR Data Points that can be utilized by algorithms to query COVID-19 data over the internet. LUMC launched its first FAIR Data Point last week, whereas the VODAN Africa Initiative currently has seven FDP’s operational.

Demonstrating intercontinental network access en querying datasets between FDP’s in Africa and Europe would be an enormous leap forward.
